Lancer football kicks off Alumni Week 2024 ahead of philanthropic, social and educational events aimed at connecting and celebrating the University of Windsor community.
The week, which runs Sept. 20 to 29, offers a variety of events.
Black alumni weekend offers an opportunity to celebrate Black excellence through networking, recognition and inspiring conversations among Black alumni. The alumni tailgate and Lancer football game took place Saturday as Windsor came from behind thanks to a late surge for a 21-18 victory over the Ottawa Gee-Gees at Alumni Stadium. The Lancers preserved their perfect 4-0 season in front of the home-town crowd.

On Monday, a Lancers for Literacy event offers a day celebrating the power of storytelling and the written word as distinguished alumni return to campus to share their insights and experiences.
Speakers include Jim Weese at the Faculty of Human Kinetics, followed by Richard Peddie at the Odette School of Business and concludes with Dwania McLarty-Peele at the Faculty of Science.
A Lancers women’s basketball alumni event takes place Friday.
Lancer athletics Day of Giving and campus community barbecue event takes place Wednesday, followed by an Afternoon on Sunset event Sept. 28, honouring alumni celebrating significant graduation anniversaries.
Campus tours and special lectures are on the agenda.
The Alumni Association is non-profit organization formed in 1903 with a mandate to provide an opportunity for its members to foster programs and undertakings that will contribute to their personal growth and overall development and to the development, prestige and advancement of the University of Windsor.
Equally important is the fostering of social, cultural and business relationships among alumni and friends, according to a news release from the school.
