Singer-composer Vishal Mishra teams up with Morocco-origin, Belgian artist Dystinct and actor Jacqueline Fernandez for a new song called “Tik Tik,” releasing via T-Series next month.
The song announcement via T-Series’ head honcho Bhushan Kumar comes on the back of Fernandez also making her foray into the world of singing, releasing her solo debut track “Stormrider” last week.
“Tik Tik,” for its part, however, is being touted as an international, worlds-collide kind of collaborative project, with Fernandez singing and acting in the video. Between Mishra and Dystinct, this marks a new space for both artists, with Dystinct calling on composer-producer Tanishk Bagchi to create the Belgian artist’s 2023 song “Tek Tek.”
The project also brings in lyricists Kumaar and Amrita Sen, who take on Hindi and English lyrics, respectively. A press release adds, “The team is set to create a cross-cultural blend that fuses soulful melodies with global beats, promising to resonate with fans worldwide. Fans can expect a perfect blend of music, dance, and visuals—a treat that will set new standards for cross-cultural collaborations.”
This is Mishra’s second big international collaboration, that too within the space of a few weeks. On Sept. 26, his song with Pritam and Norwegian electronic artist Alan Walker, “Children of the Sun,” was out ahead of Walker’s India tour. Dystinct, for his part, has made in-roads into India already, working with the likes of Shreya Ghoshal and Rajat Nagpal on the song “Zaalima,” released earlier this year.
In his own domain, Dystinct has notched up hit songs like “Spider,” “Ghazali,” “Business” and more. A multilingual artist, his catalog includes songs in Arabic, English, French, Spanish and Dutch.
