If you have a spare $3,000 or so laying around and you’re looking for a little pick me up, you should absolutely buy something from the newest Jimmy Choo and Sailor Moon collaboration. This is the second line of Jimmy Choo x Sailor Moon products, and according to original author, Naoko Takeuchi the original pink boots for the first collection were “so cute they knocked us out!”
So naturally, it’s a match made in designer fashion-manga heaven.
The new line is a wee bit pricier than the last, with the most expensive pair of shoes, the Sailor Chibi Moon boots, going for 419,100 yen ($2,936.53). Compare that to the last round, where the priciest pair went for $1,605. But hey, a gal can dream of saving the day in fashionable baby pink knee-high boots.
This time around, the non-Sailor Moon specific heels focus on the Outer Sailor Guardians: that is, Sailor Uranus (blue ankle boots designed to look like the character’s), Sailor Neptune (green pumps with sparkly crystals), Sailor Pluto (dark knee boats accented by a velvet ribbon), and Sailor Saturn (purple lace-up boots). There are also two moccasins, one for Sailor Moon and the other for Luna, the cat. And then there are two pairs of sneakers that feature artwork by Takeuchi.
The collection also includes bags themed to each of the Sailor Guardians, Inner and Outer included. The bags have adjustable straps, and are priced at 308,000 yen each. There’s also bigger tote bags designed with manga panels and available both in color and black and white. And then there are two clutches themed around Luna — with the one covered in crystals going for 1,100,000 yen.
Now, if you don’t have roughly $7,000 in pocket money, there are a few comparatively cheaper accessories — bracelets, scarves, and phone cases, which range from 41,800 yen to 143,000. That’s uhhhhhh still pricey, but definitely more in the reasonable splurge zone if you’re the type to rock a fancy printed scarf.
The new Sailor Moon x Jimmy Choo collection goes live on Oct. 9 in select stores and online. Check out the full collection on the Sailor Moon website.
