Two suspects have been arrested following a sexual assault and forcible confinement incident in the Glengarry Avenue neighbourhood, an area described as the city’s most dangerous by Windsor police.
City Centre Patrol officer’s on Thursday were conducting a proactive sweep through the neighbourhood — the recent target of multiple large-scale arrests and criminal charges — when they encountered a “distraught” victim around 10 a.m.

Officers discovered that two men had allegedly sexually assaulted the victim. One suspect had allegedly prevented the victim from leaving the residence.
After speaking to the victim, officers were able to locate and arrest both suspects without any issues.
A 24-year-old male suspect is now facing charges of sexual assault and forcible confinement. A 45-year-old male suspect has been charged with sexual assault.
Officers have been stationed in the neighbourhood as part of a broader initiative to create a safer environment for residents and visitors, in response to safety concerns raised by the Windsor-Essex County Housing Corporation.
The 300 and 400 blocks of Glengarry Avenue lead the city’s crime rates, according to Windsor police.
The Windsor Police Service has teamed up with Family Services Windsor-Essex and the Canadian Mental Health Association to set up an office inside the apartment complex at 333 Glengarry Ave.
The office is a base for the Problem-Oriented Policing Unit, City Centre Patrol, Nurse Police Team, and Crisis Response Team.
Officers began regular patrols inside the building on Aug. 10.
