A mere two weeks ago, we announced that the Pocket Gamer Awards were returning for 2024, celebrating the best mobile gaming had to offer over the last twelve months. Today, we’re opening up nominations, allowing you to ensure that your favourite picks get the attention they deserve. And this time around, we’re announcing the winners in person at an awards ceremony on December 6th. Fancy, I know.
It’s been a great year for mobile. If you don’t believe me, check out our best games of the year list, and you’ll find over 30 that scored a 4/5 or above. Thankfully, we have multiple categories, so there’s no need to pick just one thing that grabbed your attention. We’re celebrating everything from the best sim to the greatest Roblox experience to your favourite port from PC or console.
As always, the build-up to the awards is a three-step process:
Step 1: Nominations (Right now)
As I’ve said, nominations are open now, remaining so until the end of October. To help your favourite games stand the best chance of making the cut, head over to this Google Form and let your voice be heard, whether that’s in one category or across several. The only catch is your nomination needs to have been released between October 1st 2023, and September 30th 2024 – we have to cut it off somewhere after all.
Step 2: Voting
Once the month is out, we’ll open up voting. To keep things following an easy-to-remember pattern, you will have November to vote for your favourites in each category and rally your pals to do the same. Likewise, if you’re a developer reading this – we know you’re out there, I see you – ask your respective communities to get involved. They’ve proven crucial to a few wins over the years.
Step 3: Announcing the winners
Once that’s all squared away, someone better at maths than me will tot up the results. Then, the winners will be unveiled at a glorious awards ceremony in London on December 6th. Of course, we’ll let you know on the site as well.
