A handful of players are experiencing issues when trying to go through the Shader Optimization process on Throne and Liberty while loading or playing the MMORPG for the first time. It’s an annoying bug but thankfully we know how to fix Shader Optimization not working in Throne and Liberty.
Fix for Shader Optimization when loading into Throne and Liberty
If you have just downloaded or recently updated Throne and Liberty, it may go through a series of startup operations including Shader Optimization. However, for a handful of players, you can sometimes get stuck while optimizing, even at 0%. If you notice that Throne and Liberty Shader Optimization is not working and you are sitting at 0% for longer than a few minutes, it just means the process got hung up.
For most players, simply restarting Throne and Liberty will fix this issue, and the next time you load into the MMORPG it should actually continue with Shader Optimization and show an accurate percentage for the process.
In the event you restart and are still getting stuck for several minutes on the same percentage of Shader Optimization, you will need to restart again. If the issue continues more than a couple of times it more than likely means you have some corrupted files, and you will need to Verify File Integrity to fully fix this issue.
How to fix Shaders not working when playing
Now that you’re able to get past Shader Optimization during the initial launch sequence, you may encounter some shader issues in Throne and Liberty that will lag your game or make it look extremely fuzzy. Thankfully, there’s a fix if this issue occurs as well.
Go into the Menu of Throne and Liberty and enter the Settings menu. From here, click Graphics then the second option on the left, Quality. From here scroll down towards the bottom and you will see Shader Preloading as an option. For a lot of players, this will default to Epic. Lower this setting by a single level—often down to High—and restart your game.
Because of how Shader Preloading works in Throne and Liberty, faster processors can actually get away with lower Shader Preloading settings. As such, if you continue to have issues, you can always consider bumping down even more to Medium or even all the way to Low.
