Looks like it’s shaping up to a heck of a stellar year down at the Dome in the upcoming NHL campaign. With 32 teams currently in the league today, the Flames have a 50-50 chance of making the 2025 playoffs next spring. Pretty good odds, I would say! But, who will actually be the lucky 16 to make the grade in Apr. 2025? Will it be HNIC or HNIA in the NHL playoff finals in Jun. 2025? We need to bring back the prized mug to Canadian soil.

(It’s very early to say, but if we start optimistic that’s better than some years.)
Leave the bare minimum alone
Alberta should NOT increase minimum wage. Minimum wage was never intended to be a living wage, it was intended for young people to enter the workplace in unskilled jobs. If you want to make more money, get educated and move on. Further, if the government really wants to get more money into the pockets of minimum wage earners then simply increase the tax exemption.

(Can’t agree with you, Bill. Minimum wage may have been started with that intention, but it’s turned into an opportunity to pay people as little as possible.)
Give thanks where it’s due
This month is one of the greatest tributes to Canadian Veterans. Now, most Canadians don’t know Canada used to celebrate Thanksgiving in November at the same time as the Americans. One out of three of all soldiers Canada sent to fight in World War 1 were either killed or wounded. Canada’s sacrifice in the first Great War of our finest young men was so significant that we decided that November would become a “sacred month,” especially Armistice Day (today’s Remembrance Day) where our total focus should be on our past soldiers and Veterans. An Act of Parliament moved “Canadian Thanksgiving” from November to the current October, so Canadians thoughts and prayers could be totally centred on these soldiers who gave their lives for our nation. So when you sit down to Thanksgiving dinner with your family, remember why your Thanksgiving is in October, and give thanks. Thanks for your freedom and quality of life, to all Canadian soldiers past and present, who protected us, so the gift of Canada is yours to enjoy.

(Didn’t know that, Chris. Thanks for sharing.)
