Former 90s child star Kristin Minter, best known for her role as Heather in the beloved holiday classic Home Alone, has made an unexpected career shift.
The 58-year-old actress made her catwalk debut at New York Fashion Week recently, walking in the Dennis Basso show, marking her first major appearance in the world of modeling.
The beauty wore a pair of cream trousers paired with a beige and white wrap jumper, looking effortlessly elegant as she strutted down the catwalk.
Earlier this year, Kristin revealed to her fans that she had signed with the renowned Elite Model Management, kicking off this new era in her career in the public eye.
Her appearance at New York Fashion Week has already garnered attention, with fans praising her transformation and newfound success.
Supportive comments flooded her social media post about the show.
One user, ellieswartzbrooks, commented, ‘Woohoo!! You look beautiful!’ while another, mercimaxine, wrote, ‘Repping 50+ like a golden goddess.’
Minter, who played Kevin McCallister’s older cousin in the 1990 film Home Alone, admitted in the past that watching herself on screen made her feel ‘nauseous,’ but she’s evidently overcome her shyness for her new venture into modeling.
Kristin’s transition into modeling may come as a surprise to some, but it’s not the first time she’s ventured into new territories within her career.
After Home Alone, she gained further recognition for her role as Miranda ‘Randi’ Fronczak in the medical drama ER, a show that ran from 1994 to 2009 and became a critical and popular success.
Minter also landed roles in popular TV series such as The Mentalist and Ray Donovan. Over the years, however, she gradually stepped back from Hollywood’s spotlight.
Kristin’s entry into modeling at 58 also shines a light on the increasing demand for diversity and representation of older women in the fashion industry.
More and more, designers and brands are embracing models of all ages.
