Aussie Shore has courted controversy since landing on screens for being Australia’s raunchiest ever reality TV show.
However, the X-rated spin-off of the UK’s smash hit reality TV show Geordie Shore could be set to add a whopping $3million to Queensland‘s coffers.
Filmed in Cairns, the steamy series has received state government support and could see Queensland in store for a huge boost.
The Paramount+ show, hosted by Charlotte Crosby, has received funding support from the Steven Miles Labor government, according to industry blog TV Tonight.
The finance came through film agency Screen Queensland via its Production Attraction Incentive, also known as PAS.
The scheme supports projects that ‘satisfy its economic, industry, tourism and community benefits,’ according to one report.
Aussie Shore has reportedly qualified for funding under PAS and is now expected to bring in $3million to Queensland’s economy.
The show was partly produced at Screen Queensland Cairns studio in Portsmith, used multiple locations in Far North Queensland and created as many as 100 jobs for cast and crew.

Screen Queensland’s CEO Jacqui Feeney told TV Tonight Aussie Shore will help show off Cairns and that the region was significant in supporting the sexed-up program.
‘We’re not trying to step into the shoes of all the other people that have assessed the project creatively,’ she explained.
‘We’re really trying to assess that the benefits come into the Queensland industry.’
She also went on to insist that the steamy show complies with the Codes of Conduct and refused to discuss matters of ‘taste’ relating to the program.
‘I’m not going to be drawn in on the taste matters, but to make sure that as a production, that it is operating ethically, that it is exactly what it promises to deliver, that it delivers,’ she explained.
Geordie Shore’s Charlotte Crosby, who is hosting the spin-off, recently said the antics of the Aussie cast make the original series look tame by comparison.
In the first two episodes, the cast of 11 Aussie housemates have already shocked viewers with explicit sex scenes, full frontal nudity, and a ‘p**s transplant’ – where contestants urinated on each other in the pool.
However, despite the wild sex scenes viewers see on-screen, producers had a list of very ‘strict’ duty of care rules when it came to dating in the share house.
Any non cast-members wanting to sleep over with someone they met on a night out had to undertake robust security and background checks before setting foot in the property.

They also had to be sober to enter the lavish rented house, which is located on Hibiscus Lane in Holloways Beach, and consent to being on camera.
‘It’s a long detailed process,’ Aussie Shore’s executive producer Dan Sheldon told news.com.au.
‘They have to have written right consent as well, and there’s a 20 minute cooling off period. It’s very strict. Brutal.’
Sarah Thornton, Head of Popular Factual at Network 10 for Paramount ANZ, said some other shows in the ‘Shore’ reality franchise don’t allow the cast to bring outsiders in.
She admitted it was already a ‘logistical nightmare’ filming the cast members in the party house without bringing in any outsiders.
She explained: ‘I guess I’d say there’s this sense of real freedom and a bubble of freedom around the cast, and then there’s a lot of people working incredibly hard on very serious things to make sure that they’re in that bubble in a way that’s really safe.’
