Police are looking for two suspects allegedly involved in an armed robbery in the Whitewood area.
A news release from Saskatchewan RCMP at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday said officers were responding to a “robbery with a firearm,” and that two suspects were thought to be at large.
The suspects may be armed and are considered dangerous, police noted, adding that the two individuals were believed to be on foot.

“One suspect is described as male and may have been wearing a green shirt. We do not have a description of the other suspect at this time. Both suspects are described as having a slim build,” the release said. “Please ensure your vehicle and house doors are locked. Report any suspicious activity to police immediately.”
In an update Thursday afternoon, police said they had located a gun in a vehicle that they believe the suspects abandoned on old Highway #1 east of Whitewood, but the suspects had not yet been apprehended.
The release noted police dogs and drones were being used in a search and again asked people to report suspicious activity in the area.
“We will continue to provide updates when we have more information available,” police added. “If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, we will notify the public.”
