Boxing promoter Frank Warren tried his best to convince Neymar to join Arsenal at the boxing in Saudi Arabia.
The Brazil international, who currently plays for Saudi Pro League champions Al-Hilal, was in attendance to watch Artur Beterbiev’s controversial win over Dmitry Bivol on Saturday evening.
Warren, a lifelong Arsenal fan, was sat ringside with Neymar for part of the evening and the Queensberry Promotions founder attempted to recruit the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain forward to his boyhood club.
In front of the cameras, Warren told Neymar: ‘This is the man, he’s coming to England, he’s going to play for Arsenal.’
Neymar smiled and began laughing before Warren added: ‘We need you, we need you.’
Neymar then replied: ‘I’m back, I’m back.’
Neymar joined Al-Hilal from PSG in a €90 million (£77.2m) deal in August 2023.
But after just five games for the Saudi club, he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament, which ruled him out for the remainder of last season.
Neymar is now closing in on a return after he returned to training last month.
Al-Hilal won the Saudi Pro League in Neymar’s absence and currently sit top of the table, three points clear of Al-Ittihad.
