Sand Mountain Volleyball Alliance (SMVA) is partnering with Sand Mountain Park in Albertville to host the Alabama Community College Conference Volleyball Championship on Nov. 1-3.
SMVA is thrilled to be getting this opportunity to host the best junior college teams in our state right here in Albertville for the first time ever. We encourage anyone interested in the sport to come and support these athletes (several local) and their teams in the state championship.
SMVA would also like to thank its sponsors: Randy Jones & Associates Insurance Agency, Slim Chickens, Sand Mountain Toyota, Buffalo Wild Wings, Papa Dubi’s and Howard Bentley Buick GMC.
SMVA will also be having its final fall tryout for the 2024-25 club season on Sunday, Nov. 3, immediately following the ACCC championship match. Any girl ages 12-18 who missed the summer tryout, but still wants to play club ball, needs to attend this tryout. Please go to smva.club for more information.
SMVA is excited to be offering a new experience for young players who are interested in learning the sport of volleyball. SMVA is offering The Training Academy this year to all 10- to 12-year-olds who would like to learn volleyball fundamentals the correct way.
The Albertville High School coaching staff will be the coaches for this league. It will run through the months of January and February on Monday and Thursday nights. The academy will focus on fundamentals, training, live scrimmages and tournaments.
The purpose of this academy is to offer quality coaching, while saving families time and money for young girls who will not yet benefit from a full club schedule. Please visit smva.club for more information.
