Warframe fans have been enjoying the Koumei & the Five Fates over the last couple of weeks, as a myriad of new content was added to the smash hit shooter. Now, you can already look forward to what’s next as Digital Extremes has just revealed a sneak peek for the upcoming Warframe: 1999 update.
The next major update for Warframe, Warframe: 1999, is arriving this winter, but you don’t have to wait until then to get a taste of what’s coming. The studio has released a free hands-on demo today, giving you the chance to dive into a small portion of the shooter’s upcoming narrative arc before its full launch.
In this demo, you’ll explore a small piece of downtown Höllvania, navigating convoluted alleyways as Arthur on his Atomicyle. The mission is a replayable Exterminate-style challenge, where you’ll face off against the Scaldra, a new enemy faction with dangerous toxic goo weaponry. If you manage to complete the quest before the update’s launch, you’ll be awarded the Protokol Longsword Skin.
If you’re eager for more, the latest gameplay trailer for Warframe: 1999 is now live, featuring Nine Inch Nails’ “Into the Void” to set the tone. The search for Dr Entrati continues and you can check out the trailer embedded below to see what’s to come.
The music doesn’t stop there, though. Teased during TennoCon 2024, you can now listen to the official theme for Arthur’s Atomicyle, “The Call” by Matthew Chalmers, featuring Francesca Hauser. The track is available on popular streaming platforms alongside another in-game track, “Party of Your Lifetime” by boyband On-lyne, to keep the ’90s vibes rolling.
