After winning their first two games of the Canada West season ā including a 33-28 victory over the Huskies in Week 2 ā the Rams (2-4) have lost four straight games and sit tied for the final playoff spot with the Alberta Golden Bears (2-4) and Calgary Dinos (2-4).
The Manitoba Bisons (5-1), UBC Thunderbirds (4-2) and Huskies (3-3) occupy the top three spots in the Canada West conference.
A win on Saturday would go a long way in helping Regina get into the playoffs while a loss would mean Regina would need quite an effort in the final week of the season.
While Regina holds the tiebreaker over Calgary after outscoring the Dinos 44-39 in a season split this year, the Golden Bears hold the tiebreaker over Regina after a 30-6 win on Sept. 20, which means the Rams would need to beat the Golden Bears by 25 points in the regular season finale against Alberta on Oct. 25 in Regina.
