Whether you’re looking for a starter home, or you want something a little more extravagant, here’s 20 of the best Minecraft house designs to help you come up with your own masterpiece.
Dirt House
A trap that many fall into when building their first house in Minecraft is to use the dirt around them, but this build by Folli is proof that dirt houses don’t have to be boring. Thanks to the use of greenery to create what looks like a living roof, this dirt house is somewhere you can settle in without becoming restless.
Ultimate Survival House
Minecraft is, at its heart, a survival game. As such, it makes sense to build a base that can cater to all of your life-giving needs. This build by Bradmall includes everything you could need to sustain your life in Minecraft, including all of the home comforts and animals in their own sections below the main house.
Ultimate Japanese House
If you want to take some inspiration from the East, then there’s absolutely nothing stopping you, and this example from MrMattRanger is an incredible example. Filled with Japan-inspired features and made mostly from wooden blocks, it’s as stunning on the inside as it is on the outside and is an excellent source of inspiration.
Aesthetic Cottagecore House
If you want something a little more aesthetic, then cottagecore is an excellent direction to go. Thanks to the heavy use of Oak and Spruce blocks, this cottagecore house by Croissant Cat is insanely pretty to look at and includes everything you could need to enjoy your free time as the world of Minecraft passes you by outside.
Dark Oak House
Keeping with the traditional theme, this wooden house by Lex The Builder comes with its own turret. How many people can say they have their own turret? Well, you can, if you take inspiration from this build. This design uses a lot of Dark Oak blocks and is packed with tiny details. Lex The Builder is a very talented Minecraft builder, and their builds never fail to impress.
Cherry Blossom House
Looking to add that feminine touch to your Minecraft server? Then this adorable house by Polar Cat can serve as incredible inspiration for your own build. Packed with pink items, including copious amounts of Cherry Blossoms, it’s adorable, and you won’t be wanting for space or features either.
Multistory Modern House
If traditional builds aren’t to your taste, it’s possible to make some truly beautiful modern houses in Minecraft. This example by WiederDude is not only sleek and pretty to look at but is absolutely huge inside and includes everything you could ever want in a base.
Dark Fantasy House
If you want something a little bit darker, then it doesn’t come much better than this dark and gothic build by Seicraft. Made using mostly Deepslate, this house stands out so brilliantly against the green backdrop. If you’re like me and constantly lose your house in Minecraft, this Deepslate masterpiece may help.
Three Floor White Container House
ManDooMiN is an incredibly talented Minecraft builder, and I was spoiled for choice when trying to decide which of their builds to showcase here. I ultimately settled on this one, because the shape and layout are so different from anything else I’ve seen. Spread across three disconnected yet fluid levels, this house includes all of the necessities and absolutely does not lack style.
Underwater Mountain House
If you want some protection from the elements and beasties outside your door, there isn’t a much better place to build than inside a mountain. Combining that with also being underwater adds an extra layer of protection, and this build by Zaypixel not only provides the best of both build choices, but also comes with a killer view of the lake beyond the window.
Underground Base
Underground bases are an absolute staple, and they don’t come much more sleek and well thought out than this beauty by IrieGenie. With fully glass roofs to make the most of the sunlight and ample space for everything you could ever need, it’s a hole in the ground with style, and you could definitely settle here for a while.
Modern Mansion
Until now, everything included on this list has been relatively compact, but this build absolutely smashes that trend. This mansion by FlyingCow is absolutely huge and has more space than I’d know what to do with, and its incredible almost-symmetry is really appealing. Building something this big is definitely a big task, but the results speak for themselves.
Treehouse
There’s no better feeling than waking up in the morning to a glorious view, and they don’t come much better than the vista offered by this treehouse. Built by Mia Bloom, this treehouse has two individual pods under the foliage of this huge tree and blends in beautifully with its surroundings.
Ultimate Underwater Base
My jaw hit the floor the first time I saw this build. It’s truly gargantuan, not that you’d know that if you only saw the small cabin that marks the entrance in the middle of the water. With a huge central area, a small pod on each side, and 360 views of the squid and fish swimming around you, this underwater base by Ekjoy Craft is truly inspirational.
Epic Water House
There’s something mesmerizing about this half-underwater build by LubovLC, and the more I look at it, the more inspiration I feel. It’s almost like a sculpture but includes all of the items you’ll need to survive in relative comfort and store all of your resources. With a design like this, you’d never feel the need to build another base again.
Steampunk Airship
Looking for something a little on the stranger side of design? This steampunk airship by DiddiHD is an absolute masterpiece. Complete with rigging and a sky bridge, it’s safe to say that you’d never lose this house while going about your adventures.
Hanging House
This hanging pod by SheepGG looks incredibly cozy and offers views all around the canyon over which it hangs. Admittedly, it looks like it would swing in the wind and cause a touch of seasickness if you’re prone to it, but sometimes you need to take style over the comfort of your stomach, and this is one of those times.
Floating Castle
Something about this floating castle by Twin Saw is reminiscent of the best fantasy games, and it wouldn’t look out of place in a Zelda or Final Fantasy title. The green roofs and inspired use of lighting make this build appear almost ethereal, and if this doesn’t inspire you to think outside of the box when it comes to your own builds, then I don’t know what will.
Mushroom House
There’s something so cute and charming about a mushroom house, and this one is definitely one of the best I’ve seen. Built by BlueNerd, this mushroom house has a surprising amount of space inside for all of your items and resources, and you won’t be able to miss the bright red caps from a distance, so you’ll never lose your house, either!
Moon House
This incredible build by Shovel241 is like something straight out of a fantasy book and looks almost witchy with the moon surrounding the cottage inside. This is proof that you can add some personality to your houses and a lot of color without compensating for style.
