Lewis Hamilton has offered to give George Russell his car parts after his Mercedes team-mate crashed in qualifying.
Forced to settle for P6, Russell’s result was substantially better than Hamilton, who finished qualifying in 19th.
As a result, Hamilton, who appears to have already given up on hopes of a point-scoring finish, is willing to sacrifice his parts for the better-placed Mercedes man.
Commenting after qualifying, Russell said: “Right now, the concern is about the bits. We will have to revert on the upgrades.
“Lewis has kindly offered his ones, but we’re not going to swap.
“So I don’t know what’s going to be happening now, but that’s the biggest concern.”
