New exec will lead the claims strategy, enhancing service delivery in the growing market
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has announced the appointment of Kristina Målarbo (pictured above) as head of claims for the Nordics region.
Anna Green, head of Nordics at BHSI, highlighted the company’s focus on claims as a key part of its strategy.
“Our core ‘claims is our product’ philosophy is a major differentiator for BHSI and an advantage for our customers and brokers,” Green said. “I’m thrilled to have Kristina joining BHSI to lead delivery of this product to the marketplace and build out our claims team locally.”
Målarbo brings 25 years of experience in managing commercial insurance claims, including handling multinational claims for global insurers. She will be based in Stockholm.
BHSI expanded into the Nordics earlier this year, offering property, casualty, executive and professional lines, construction, and multinational insurance programs. The company’s operations in the region continue to grow with a dedicated team in Stockholm.
Earlier this month, BHSI also announced the appointment of Thomas Pache to lead its newly launched professional indemnity and cyber insurance lines in the DACH region. The company also named Kim Schumacher as senior property underwriter.
Both will be based in BHSI’s newly opened office in Hamburg, part of the company’s strategy to enhance its presence and proximity to broker partners and customers in the region.
In September, the specialty firm expanded its European footprint with the opening of a new office in Milan and the appointment of Leonardo Castrichino as country manager for Italy.
The move is part of the company’s broader strategy to grow its presence across key European markets, which earlier this year included its formal entry into the Spanish surety market with the appointment of Jesús Barbero as head of surety.
