Who were you representing?
Article content
The days of independent candidates who actually represent you appear to be over! Really, Mayor Gondek, who did you represent? Not Calgarians for sure. Remember your climate emergency declaration just after being elected, your failure to attend the lighting of the menorah? I could go on and on. The only person you represented was yourself and your own selfish ego. With a party system maybe Calgarians will get real representation instead of a strutting popinjay who thinks only of herself!

(Only time will tell, but it will make the next election extra interesting.)
Should have Nov. 11 off
This November 11, similar to the Indigenous Day when many of the people who are true native North Americans worked, many veterans will have to work the day. Many provinces do not have the day off for everyone, only federal government employees and unions take the day off, while the majority of the people work these two days. All the while we pay Trudeau money so he can holiday on Canada Day.

Fantastic fall
My… my… my… how the mighty have fallen from grace since October 2015. First, it was Sophia. Then it was Jagmeet and now we have Justin’s cabinet and caucus disintegrating right before his eyes. Finally, the knock-out blow to Trudeaumania will come on Election Day, and hopefully before 2025.

Just a little control
I read that the Assembly of First Nations has rejected a child care program costing $47.8 billion over 10 years. This was designed by them. Their chiefs rejected it. But the issue will be pursued. The cost works out to around $10,000 per child, per year while they are under 15. As usual, the chiefs don’t want any outside involvement in how this program is designed, applied, monitored or assessed. It only makes sense that some control should be mandatory when handing over this much.

(Not sure on your math there. Regardless, we don’t think the feds are doing a great job with their existing responsibilities, let’s not add to them.)
