GOATS A GREAT IDEA

Re: Give goats a go; Overgrown parks could be saved by grazing animals, Oct. 17
This is a fantastic idea and I don’t know why it hasn’t been done already. A couple of years ago, my sister looked into “renting” a small herd to clean up a seriously overgrown backyard at the family home. She was already looking after our elderly mother and found the task of lawncare at that point daunting, to say the least. We had tried to do it ourselves, but grapevine and thistles had taken over and the unevenness of the yard made it difficult, and we aren’t spring chickens anymore.
Not only does this eliminate the use of a lawn mower, electric or gas, but the goats would leave fertilizer. I love goats and would probably spend the day just watching them do their thing.

The city nixed the idea for us, as you are not allowed farm animals in the city. It didn’t matter that we weren’t looking to keep them. When will we ever have a government, on any level, willing to think outside the box? We’re told to cut our carbon footprint but then deny the same. We would gladly rent these little guys to take care of our lawn.

STOP THE WHINING
The whining of the federal workers’ unions is getting out of hand. What an entitled group of brats. I don’t care how many fudged studies they produce, human beings who are not supervised, for the most part, are going to be exponentially less productive.
Working at home was never even thought of before COVID hit. People don’t do their jobs when there’s no accountability. That’s just human nature. There are exceptions, but, for the most part, that is the nature of the beast.

Have you tried to get through to a government agency by phone? You’re on hold for hours. I’m also wondering if these workers are prepared to take pay cuts. Part of the consideration of a worker’s wage would be the commute, cost of paying for lunches, clothing, etc.
The old way has always worked. Go back to work and be normal, productive human beings and contribute to society the way the rest of us do, and stop your entitled complaining.
