Peter Zaffino, AIG’s chairman and CEO, highlighted the company’s long-standing presence in Atlanta and its plans to create over 600 new jobs, contributing to the local economy.
“This investment is part of our commitment to continue to enhance our expertise to help our clients and partners navigate complex and emerging risks, while building additional capabilities for the future,” Zaffino said.
AIG’s investment in the new 180,000-square-foot LEED Gold certified facility will triple the company’s office space in Atlanta. The new hub is expected to house more than 1,000 employees, including the new hires, by 2026.
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp also welcomed AIG’s decision to grow its operations in the state, noting that the innovation hub will have lasting positive effects on the local economy.
“AIG’s decision to grow their footprint here in Georgia is just the latest confirmation that we have what businesses want and are leveraging those assets to their fullest so we can bring new opportunity to all parts of the state,” Kemp said.
Claude Wade (pictured above), AIG’s executive vice president, chief digital officer, and global head of business operations and claims, said that the Atlanta innovation hub will enhance AIG’s data and digital capabilities.
“Our goal is to create a collaborative space for AIG colleagues across underwriting, claims, operations, data engineering and generative AI, enabling them to work together to create a differentiated experience for our clients and partners,” Wade said.
