PRIMETIME HOCKEY

Watched the first Monday night Prime NHL hockey broadcast. Really enjoyed the change and the format, Prime showed more of the event, including the warmup.
Mark Messier was a breath of fresh air; the other two will find their way. It was such a nice change from Sportsnet. I find the commentators at Sportsnet make the game about them. Since Don Cherry was fired, I don’t know anyone who actually pays attention between periods, it’s just background noise. Ron MacLean is in the same environment as Justin Trudeau: he just needs to go away and let some fresh people take over. I do remember when Coach’s Corner was on; everyone watched and loved Don.
Let’s hope Prime can get more games in the future. Sportsnet needs to take a back seat now that Prime has stepped in.

RIC VERNON
SHOULD SHUFFLE HIMSELF OUT
Justin Trudeau is going to shuffle his cabinet after four more ministers said they won’t run in the next election. When you shuffle a deck of cards, the idea is to pick winners. By basing his cabinet selection solely of DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion), Trudeau’s chance of picking winners is seriously diminished.
Rather than yet another cabinet shuffle to save his government currently in serious crises, Trudeau really needs to shuffle himself out of government as the best way to save Canada. The longer Trudeau stubbornly clings to power, the more disgruntled Liberal MPs will likely decide not to run in the next election rather than face defeat. After losing two long-held Liberal seats in Ontario and Quebec in byelections, no current Liberal seat is totally secure.

ACTING LIKE CHILDREN
We all know that the federal public service has become very militant and political over the last number of years. Now, because the workers are expected to show up at the office three days a week, they’ve decided to act like petulant little children and stomp their feet and say no.
The government definitely needs to address the issues with workspace and rodents, etc., but let’s face it, taxpayers have the right to know that their public servants are actually earning their paycheques.
