- Jordan Addison caused speculation online with a recent Instagram story
Jordan Addison posted a cryptic message to his Instagram story on Saturday morning as the NFL’s November 5 trade deadline draws closer.
The second-year wideout has been less involved in Minnesota‘s offense than he was in his rookie year, as he’s averaging just 4.6 targets per game – down from 6.4 last year.
And ahead of Minnesota’s matchup with the Colts, Addison posted a picture of himself along with the phrase ‘Free 3.’
The post caused some online to speculate that Addison wanted a trade.
However, it’s worth noting that Addison has used the saying at least since he was drafted, as he wore a custom ‘Free 3’ chain to the NFL Draft in April 2023.

However, the motto is one that he’s used at least since he was drafted last year. He wore a chain with the saying in April 2023.
In fact, one X user even posited that the phrase refers to the speedster ‘getting loose scoring TDs.’
Addison also posted a photo of himself and teammate Justin Jefferson to his story.
There have already been several wide receivers moved ahead of this trade deadline, with Davante Adams traded to the Jets, DeAndre Hopkins to the Chiefs and Amari Cooper to the Bills.
Rams wideout Cooper Kupp was reportedly involved in trade talks as well, though coach Sean McVay indicated after his team’s win over the Vikings on Thursday that the former Super Bowl MVP would be remaining with the franchise.
Addison – at least for now – is not part of that list of receivers to be traded and will try to help the 5-2 Vikings beat Indianapolis on Sunday.
In five games (he missed two with an ankle injury), Addison has 231 receiving yards and two total touchdowns.
