Zach Top’s “I Never Lie” has become a favorite not only among fans but also within the country music community. The heartbreak ballad off his debut record, Cold Beer & Country Music, scored Zach Top on his first appearance on the Billboard Top 100 chart and is viral on TikTok, garnering an astonishing 34.3K videos made with the song.
To say this song is a hit for Top is an understatement.
With the song gaining wild popularity, many artists have started covering it, belting out the catchy chorus and exciting the crowd. Post Malone recently took the single to the Flora-Bama stage with Chandler Walters, making for an electric night at the famed beach bar.
Now, the supporting act for a portion of Malone’s F-1 Trillion tour, Muscadine Bloodline, is putting their spin on the track. In a bathroom jam session, Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton fire up the ’90s-inspired track, singing a snippet of the chorus.
Charlie takes the first line of the song as Gary lightly strums his guitar, letting their vocals be the focal point of the video. Gary then jumps in and seamlessly harmonizes with Charlie. The acoustics in the bathroom are killer, further highlighting their sensational vocal talent.
I honestly watched this clip over 20 times. It’s addicting, and I need a full cover from the Alabama boys.
While this cover is stellar on its own, it got the wheels turning that a Zach Top and Muscadine Bloodline collab needs to happen. The ’90s flare Top brings to the table, combined with the honky tonk sound that Muscadine is known for, feels like it would be a match made in heaven.
