Windsor police have ruled the ‘suspicious death’ of a 69-year-old man at a residence in the city’s south-central area a homicide.
The death was earlier deemed suspicious by the Windsor Police major crimes unit after an initial investigation on Friday.
A post-mortem examination conducted by the coroner’s office on Saturday morning, however, ruled the incident a homicide, Windsor police tweeted around 1:45 p.m. on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

The Windsor Police Service said officers were dispatched to the residence in the 2400 block of Highland Avenue shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Friday, following a report of trouble unknown.
When officers arrived, they found a 69-year-old man dead inside the residence.
Members of the major crimes unit and forensic identification unit were called to the scene.
Investigators suspect the homicide is an isolated incident at this time. Windsor police say there is no evidence indicating any threat to public safety.
Officers are canvassing the neighbourhood in search of witnesses and details about the incident.
Police are also asking residents in the immediate area to check dash-cam or surveillance footage recorded between 5:30 and 7:30 a.m. Friday morning for “evidence related to this case.”
