Days after Purnia Lok Sabha MP Pappu Yadav issued a warning to disband the Lawrence Bishnoi gang within 24 hours, the former Congress leader has claimed a death threat from the gang itself. Soon after receiving the threat, Pappu Yadav wrote to the Bihar Police DGP and filed a complaint with the Purnia police.
He further escalated his complaint to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. In a letter to Shah, Yadav demanded more security saying that he has no faith in Bihar police.
In a letter to the Home Minister, he stated that after being elected as a Bihar Legislative Assembly member and six times as a Lok Sabha member, he and his family members have faced multiple attacks. He mentioned that various caste-based criminals, including Maoist organizations from Nepal, have attempted to kill him several times.
He further added that after receiving threats from a Maoist organization in Nepal, the Central Home Ministry provided him with a Y Plus security cover in 2015 but later in 2019 it was reduced.
