- Reviver, the narrative puzzle game, is coming to mobile
- It’s set to release on iOS and Android this Winter
- It studies the protagonist’s interconnected lives from youth to old age
Time is a strange thing – it progresses and is constantly coming in, yet we’re also constantly losing it. It brings people together and tears them apart. The philosophical nature of time makes it perfect for games, although that’s usually just slowing the flow of it so you can better see your bullets pancake someone against a wall. But Cotton Games’ Reviver is a narrative puzzle game that wants to take a gentler view.
The core idea of Reviver is an interesting one. Essentially, you’re restricted to a single room, with the aim of bringing together the two protagonists Carlos and Felicia. How do you do that, you ask? By utilising the butterfly effect! Small changes make big differences, and as you leap through time you’ll see the room change to reflect that.
But you also won’t be meeting Carlos and Felicia directly. Instead, you’ll uncover events, and how they change, by reading diaries, news articles and viewing photos. All with the aim of bringing these two star-struck lovers together and changing destiny. It’s definitely a fascinating, heartfelt concept for a game.

Reviver is set to arrive on mobile sometime in Winter of this year, and will be a one-time payment of $4.99 to unlock the full game, so no demo for you sadly. However, given how well the game has already been received on Steam, and the interesting concept, I’d say this is one to watch.
