Halloween is freshly behind us and fall is halfway over. Take advantage of these final quiet days before the holiday season begins with some family-friendly local events and experiences.
1 — Explore and learn at Wanuskewin
Wanuskewin Heritage Park offers guided programming or self-guided options in its interpretive centre and on the nature trails. Enjoy cultural programming, live dance or music presentations, guided trail or indoor tours, bison-themed programs, or explore the exhibits, art galleries and trails on your own. The park is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Learn more at wanuskewin.com.

2 — Attend an annual bazaar
Luther Tower Tenants’ Association hosts its annual Fundraising Bazaar. Sale tables feature a variety of baking, crafts, jewelry, knitting and woodworking. The bazaar is Saturday in the dining room at Luther Tower from noon to 3 p.m. Learn more at 306-652-2497 or 306-374-0055.
3 — Shop a craft fair
The Rotary Club of Saskatoon presents its third annual Holiday Craft Fair. More than 70 artisans and vendors sell crafts, baked goods, jewelry, home decor, vintage items and Christmas decor. The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday in Hall A at Prairieland Park. Learn more on Facebook.
4 — Get kids learning about nature
The Saskatoon Nature Society hosts a Young Naturalists’ bird feeder workshop. Learn how to use a bird feeder for winter bird watching and how to track bird populations. Bring your own hammer and build a take-home bird feeder. Supplies are provided and pre-registration and parental supervision are required. The Young Naturalists program is open to all ages, with activities geared toward ages five to 11. The workshop is Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Forestry Farm Park and Zoo’s Affinity Learning Centre. 5 — Celebrate with the Saskatoon concert band
Saskatoon Concert Band presents Homecoming, a celebration of decades of music-making with a selection of works that showcase the music the band has enjoyed performing over the years. Trombonist Ross Ulmer, a former band member, returns to perform as a guest soloist. Featured music includes works by J.E. Barat, John J. Morrissey, Bellini, Robert Jager and Leroy Anderson. The concert is Saturday at the Broadway Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Learn more at saskatoonconcertband.ca.
