Re: Is the carbon tax the next flip-flop? Editorial, Oct. 26
Call me a cynic, but I hope Canadian citizens are not naïve enough to take, at face value, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s flip-flop on his wide-open, unchecked immigration policies.
He has confirmed that his about-face is solely to stop the election of Pierre Poilievre. Mark my words, if this arrogant, self-serving man is re-elected, the original policy will be reinstated so fast that your head will spin.
This man has proven, time and time again, that he puts his ideologically driven, woke beliefs far above the best interests of Canada or Canadians. He also exhibits no hesitancy or shame in saying one thing in the public square and doing exactly the opposite.

KUDOS TO PREMIER FORD
Re: LILLEY: Ford puts Ontario students first for medical school, online, Oct. 25
Having had friends whose children were forced to attend foreign medical schools because there were no positions in Canadian universities, I think Premier Doug Ford deserves kudos for this long-overdue, common-sense decision.
Universities were apparently giving foreign students priority because they paid higher tuition fees. This was taking place even though Canadian universities are publicly funded, meaning priority should be with Canadians. This certainly has been a factor in the doctor shortage.
Another brilliant move by Premier Ford was appointing former federal Liberal health minister Dr. Jane Philpott to head up the team examining primary care in Ontario.

HANG IN THERE, JUSTIN
Mr. Trudeau, thank you for not giving in to your party members who want you gone. Truthfully, I cannot think of a more certain way for Canadians to be rid of you than for you to stay as the prime minister until the next election.
Clearly, your arrogance blinds you to what most Canadians see when they look at and listen to you, so please don’t change a thing.
