Re: This pledge hits home; Tories would end sales tax on new units under $1M, Oct. 29
Pierre Poilievre announces that, if elected, his government would remove the GST from new homes priced under $1 million. That would save buyers — average Canadians — up to $50,000 on affordable housing as well as some houses into the more middle-class price range. These are the houses sought by the Canadian cohort most affected by and concerned with affordability. This GST cut, with any trickle-on effect to other costs, could possibly save them even more.
What is socialist Singh’s response? The usual “he’s (Poilievre) not interested in anything but helping his rich corporate friends”. News flash, Jagmeet, his so-called rich, corporate friends don’t buy houses in the $400,000 to $900,000 range, sadly, the norm available for many working families these days. Corporate execs, CEOs et al, not as constrained by affordability, buy in the $1.5 million (and up) range.

Once again, Singh’s reaction is coloured by his socialist fanaticism and partisan blindness, proving he is once again out of touch when dealing with or looking out for common Canadians. As was Bob Rae, a silk-stocking socialist!

ESTABLISHED MEDIA DEAD
The established media, as we know it, are dead. They just don’t know it. Make no mistake, it’s been a long time coming and it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. Print, radio and TV reporting is, at best, weak to non-existent.
Is there anyone under the age of 40 watching, listening or reading news stories anymore? It’s not a stretch to say the established media have been influenced by infusions of money from the federal government.
Have you ever wondered why the Joe Rogans, Ben Shapiros and Charlie Kirks of the world are popular? They ask the hard and perhaps even embarrassing questions. Whether your politics lean to either the left or right, the questions still remain the same. This is something the established media has forgotten to do.
