The Saskatoon Police Service has suspended six officers with pay as investigations into their conduct are underway.
Five of the suspensions are a result of an administrative review that took place in mid-September due to an off-duty incident, police said on Friday.
The Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) is investigating one aspect of the incident, said Chief Cam McBride said.

“As the chief, I want to reassure the public that I am committed to ensuring the Saskatoon Police Service code of ethics is upheld and that there are processes currently underway to assess officer conduct,” he told reporters at a news conference.
“Last week we became aware of an officer’s conduct in a separate instance. That officer has also been suspended with pay while an administrative review is conducted,” McBride added.
He said he couldn’t give any details of the incidents or the officers involved.
He said the officers are still receiving pay because the investigation is internal, and that a proper and full understanding of the circumstances hasn’t been obtained yet.
