The holiday shopping season in Windsor-Essex is officially here.
Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island launched its sixth annual holiday gift guide on Tuesday, showcasing more than 300 unique businesses and artisans to encourage residents to shop local this holiday season.
“It’s a one-stop-shop for everything you need to support local this season,” said Gordon Orr, CEO of Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island.

“Each year we continue to see growth in not only the partners profiled in the guide, but also the engagement and interest from the public looking for more ways to support local during the holiday season.”
The 32-page handbook offers readers a comprehensive list of artisans, makers, retail locations and small businesses in the region. It also gives details about other events and entertainment options happening throughout the holidays.
There’s recipe ideas, tips for New Year’s Eve, a craft beer and spirits guide, as well as local wine pairings for readers to flip through and enjoy.
This year’s gift guide has already started to go out across the region.
Print editions of the guide have been distributed to more than 75,000 homes in Windsor-Essex through Canada Post. An additional 5,000 guides will be available at retail stores and local events.
Copies can also be picked up at the Tourism Windsor Essex offices located at 98 Chatham St. E. in downtown Windsor.
“We thank the Windsor-Essex Small Business and Entrepreneurship Centre for their continued support on this support local campaign,” Orr said. “This year’s guide profiles 65 plus of their partners, and is a win-win when we look at more ways to profile the entrepreneurs and small businesses that make our region so vibrant.”
On Tuesday, the organization also announced its concurrent 50 Days of Giveaways event, offering readers the chance to win one of 57 daily prizes through December 20.
New this year is the Holiday Light Pass which will incentivize readers to visit the four regional light festivals for a chance to win a $500 Devonshire Mall shopping spree.
