The University of Windsor cancelled classes on Monday after a power outage swept across campus.
The Leddy Library, Toldo Lancer Centre, and CAW Student Centre were also shut down for the rest of the day after the power disruption hit shortly after 2 p.m. on Monday. Food services for students in residence were redirected to Alumni Hall.
The university issued an update around 3 p.m., stating that power had returned in certain areas and some systems were back online. But the school said restoring all power and systems, including access to the Internet, would take longer.
Around 3:30 p.m., the university said the outage was still ongoing and classes were done for the day.
“Due to the ongoing, yet temporary power issues impacting services across campus, classes have been cancelled and only essential services will be available for the remainder of the day, Monday, November 18,” the university said.
The university did not say what caused the power outage.
