Two people accused in recent Saskatoon homicides that happened just days apart appeared in provincial court on Wednesday, when both of their cases were set over.
Katelin Shawna Faye McGillivary, 36, appeared by video. She is charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 20-year-old woman outside the Copper Mug bar just before 7 p.m. on Nov. 15.
Police said the victim was found dead in a parking lot in the 1300 block of Eighth Street East. In a news release on Monday, police asked the public for any available dashboard camera footage from vehicles travelling westbound in that block between 6:15 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Crown requested a no-contact order between McGillivary and a list of people.
Timothy Smith, 45, is charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of a 37-year-old man on Sunday. He appeared Wednesday by phone.
According to police, the victim was found injured in the 400 block of 26th Street West in the Caswell Hill neighbourhood around 2:30 a.m. The victim and accused knew each other, police said.
McGillivary and Smith remain in custody. Their cases were adjourned to Dec. 12 to secure lawyers.
The recent homicides mark the city’s 13th and 14th of 2024.
The city’s 12th homicide was in August, when 30-year-old Jordan Lee Morin’s remains were found on the property of a home in the 200 block of Avenue I South. Four people are charged in his death.
Two homicides were recorded in June. No charges have been laid in the death of a 66-year-old man found injured in a parking lot beside Fairhaven School, and a 29-year-old man died from his injuries after a stabbing in the 800 block of 22nd Street West.
Three homicides were recorded in April, one in March, and five more in February alone.
