- Darren Till went viral after doing some shirtless shadowboxing on Tuesday
- He has now responded to fans who have mocked him over his current weight
- Till is set to face Tommy Fury in a heavyweight boxing match on January 18
Darren Till has revealed he is at his career-heaviest weight just over eight weeks out from stepping in the ring with Tommy Fury.
Till has signed to fight Tyson’s younger brother in Manchester on January 18, and the bout has been scheduled at heavyweight, meaning there is no upper limit for both men when they hit the scales.
However, many fans were taken aback when they saw Till’s current shape at Tuesday’s launch press conference, as the former UFC star was brutally mocked online as a video of him doing shirtless shadowboxing went viral.
Till called into The Ariel Helwani Show to talk about his weight struggles on Wednesday as he went on a run to get his training camp underway.
Asked by Helwani about his current weight, a breathless Till replied: ‘About 115kg (253lbs).’
He added: ‘I’m f*****! I’m going to stop for a pint in a minute when I get off this (call).’

Boxing and MMA journalist Helwani seemed shocked by Till’s revelation and questioned whether this is the biggest he’s ever been, drawing the response: ‘Yeah, why not?’
Helwani then addressed the viral shadowboxing video and wanted to get to the bottom of whether Till was just messing around to lull Fury into a false sense of security.
Till answered: ‘Obviously (it was a joke), mate. I don’t give a f*** what he thinks. I’m coming for war with him and his whole family. Me against them. The bullies got bullied. They got terrorised out of a press conference.’
Till weighing 253lbs means he is almost five stone over the 185lb middleweight limit he most recently fought at when he lost to current UFC champion Dricus du Plessis in December 2022.
But the 31-year-old Liverpudlian appears unconcerned that he is not in fighting shape yet as he held his own at a chaotic press conference on Tuesday.
After exchanging verbal blows with Tommy and his father John, Till had a glass of water thrown at him by Fury Sr.
Security were forced to step in to prevent the altercation becoming physical as the press conference was brought to an abrupt ending without the customary face-off.
Till and Fury are now likely to be kept apart until fight week, as they look to get into optimal condition before settling their differences in the ring in just under two months’ time.
