A 39-year-old man has been charged following an attempted daytime robbery at a downtown bank that was followed by a quick arrest.
Police were called to a bank in the 300 block of Ouellette Avenue Thursday just after 2 p.m.
A man had entered the bank, approached the counter and handed the teller a note demanding money.
The suspect fled the scene before receiving any funds.
Officers patrolling downtown as part of the Windsor Police Service’s strengthen the core initiative responded quickly, locating the suspect a short distance from the scene.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
The man has been charged with attempted robbery.
