Lakeshore municipal services will move to a temporary home beginning Monday as construction on the town hall is slated to begin Dec. 2.
The transition will start with building and bylaw services moving to the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre Monday, followed Friday by property tax and water bill payment services (not including debit card payments).
As of Dec. 2, all front-line town hall services will be moved to the centre, located at 447 Renaud Line Rd. in Belle River.

Lakeshore’s public service unit will continue to be available in person at the town hall until Friday, as well as by phone at 519-728-2700 and email at publicservice@Lakeshore.ca.
Residents seeking specific services such as planning, building, bylaw, revenue or legislative services, are advised to call ahead and book an appointment to ensure staff availability and confirm service location.
December and January town council meetings will be temporarily relocated to Essex County council chambers at 360 Fairview Ave. W. in Essex.
A complete renovation, needed to modernize the facility and improve accessibility on the first floor of the building, was approved by council earlier this year.
The municipal building will undergo a first-floor renovation that will include a larger, accessible entrance area, new service counters, barrier-free washroom facilities and a new meeting room, offices and cubicles for staff.
Fina Construction Ltd.’s bid of $994,606 was approved by council in October.
