Wiregrass Wealth Management and Personnel Resources were named as 2024 Alabama Small Business of the Year Gold (1-10 Employees) and Bronze (11-50 Employees) award winners, respectively, by the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama and Business Council of Alabama.

Founded in 2009 by John Ruddock and Adam Thomas, Wiregrass Wealth Management has built its reputation by offering a personalized approach to financial planning and investment management. With over 15 years of experience in the investment industry, Ruddock and Thomas established the firm to counter the depersonalization they observed in the financial services industry, prioritizing strong relationships and individualized financial strategies.

“When we founded Wiregrass Wealth 15 years ago, we never dreamed we’d one day be nominated for an award like this,” said Adam Thomas of Wiregrass Wealth Management.
Personnel Resources won the 2024 Alabama Small Business of the Year Bronze award in the category 11-50 Employees.
Richard Guest and Becky Carter founded Personnel Resources in Dothan in April 1987 after their involvement with a similar personnel service in Columbus, Georgia. In 1993, Ben Harrison became an owner/stockholder and now serves as president. Since Ben’s leadership, Personnel Resources has opened Professional Employer Services. In 2007, Personnel Resources opened Preferred Risk Services, a full service commercial insurance agency.

Presented during The BCA/CCAA Partnership Annual Meeting held Tuesday, Nov. 19, in Birmingham, three winners were awarded in each of the four business categories: Emerging Business (in operation less than five years), 1-10 Employees, 11-50 Employees and 51-100 Employees.
The awards recognize businesses of merit based on a variety of civic endeavors, business success and community involvement, the very best in Alabama small business. A total of 40 Alabama small businesses were named as finalists for this year’s 2024 awards.
