Hugh Grant has addressed claims that he ‘made out heavily’ with an iconic Bravo star, on a wild night out.
Real Housewives of New York star Countess Luann de Lesseps sent fans into meltdown during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, when she announced that she had kissed the Notting Hill actor, 64.
In a new interview, the 59-year-old shed further light on her drunken antics with the dad-of-five, during a boozy meal at a swanky restaurant in the Hamptons.
She said: ‘A girlfriend of mine called me and she said, “Hugh Grant is at Pierre’s” – a restaurant at The Hamptons – I said, No! I’ll be right over.
‘I know the owner, Pierre, so I called and said, “Get the table right next to Hugh Grant”. I brought my family over, my brother was visiting. I said, “Sit me right behind him”.
‘I sit behind him and I pushed out my chair real fast so I bumped into him. Flirting 101. I bumped into him and said, “Oh I’m so sorry.”
‘I go, “I’m so sorry. Can I buy you a shot, I feel terrible.” He goes, “Okay, but I’ll come have a shot with you if you do one with me.”’
Luann didn’t share any details about when their flirtation took place, but said that the Love Actually legend was aware of who she was, as he also knows Andy Cohen.
‘Before you know it, we are taking shots and making out heavily at the table! That’s the story of Hugh Grant,’ she continued to TooFab.
‘My brother was like, ‘I can’t believe you’re making out with Hugh Grant’, and I was like, ‘Neither can I.’”
‘At the table. We were kind of tipsy at that point.’
He wasn’t the only famous face Luann has had her eye on over the years, as she also ‘tried’ to make a move on Gerard Butler when they shared a lift together once – but his girlfriend was also there with them.
Hugh, who married wife Anna Eberstein in 2018, later took to social media to unpack the night out in question, explaining that he ‘didn’t recall’ the shots, or the kissing.
Posting a screenshot of a People Magazine article about the incident, he tweeted: ‘Steady on. I do remember meeting a charming RHNY in a restaurant, but I’d like to stress it was about 15 years ago.
‘I don’t recall shots or kissing but her memory might be better than mine.’
The Hollywood favorite recently made headlines when he revealed the names of his daughters for the first time in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel last month.
He shares two daughters and a son with Anna, and is also dad to two children with Tinglan Hong.
Despite being one of the most famous men in the industry, the dad-of-five has kept his family life firmly behind closed doors.
This changed slightly when he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, spilling the beans on the unique names he and Anna had blessed their youngest two kids with.
‘I have a daughter who I named… I was in a bit of a panic with my wife on the day we named her, and we thought it might be nice for her when she was older if she could say in bars that her middle name was Danger,’ he said of the eight-year-old. ‘So her name is Lulu Danger Grant.’
Discussing the moniker of his youngest daughter, he quipped: ‘Named Blue because again I panicked about names with my wife so we asked [Lulu’s] elder brother when she was on the way.
‘We said, “There’s a new baby coming along, what should we call her?” And he said, “Kevin,” because that was his favorite Minion.
‘And we did think about calling her Kevin but then we said, “You better think of something else.” So he said Blue, because it was his favorite color.’
Hugh and Anna also share son John Mungo, while he welcomed Tabitha Xiao Xi and Felix Chang Hong with Tinglan.
