A one-year-old girl is fighting for her life and five others were injured in a head-on crash in Melbourne’s west.
Two cars collided on Station Road near Tulloch Street at Deer Park about 12.20am on Friday.
Six people from inside one of the vehicles — three adults and three young children — were taken to hospital.
The one-year-old girl suffered life-threatening injuries, while a 10-year-old girl and a 20-month-old baby girl are being treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The three adults in the car — a 22-year-old woman, a 25-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man — all sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle involved in the collision, a 22-year-old man from Niddrie in Melbourne’s north-west, was not injured in the crash.
He was arrested at the scene, and police said they would interview him in relation to dangerous driving causing serious injury.
Police urged anyone who witnessed the crash or with footage of it to contact Crime Stoppers.
