Netflix viewers are being advised to cancel all their weekend plans to binge a thriller starring an Oscar-nominated actor.
The Madness stars Colman Domingo as media pundit and TV host Muncie Daniels who finds himself framed for the murder of a white supremacist.
Since premiering on Netflix on Thursday, fans have been devouring the eight-episode conspiracy drama.
On X @rickyramon95, exclaimed: ‘This TV series has amazing. And Colman Domingo is brilliant in it. I was so nervous the entire time. Go binge it now!’
Echoing their sentiment, @THISisLULE said: ‘I’m halfway through episode 1 of #TheMadness and I’ve already decided that Colman Domingo deserves all the available awards.’
@tarequelaskar commented: ‘Excellent and very enjoyable 70s paranoia thriller coded pilot! #TheMadness.’
@purplemeadows_ also added: ‘This show is too good so far #TheMadness.’
Speaking about The Madness, Colman, 55, said he wants audiences to ‘look at the whole picture’ in an interview with Deadline.
‘I think the show is asking you … don’t just take what’s given to you,’ he explained.
‘Go a little deeper to actually look who’s behind curtain number three, four, five and six, and how it benefits them, the idea that you need to continue to believe what you believe and keep yourself separate from each other. And it keeps a chasm between us instead of you taking in all the information.’
If you manage to whip through The Madness, there are plenty of other thrillers on Netflix to watch next.
Critics have particularly singled out hidden gem Bad Day For the Cut which has a 92% Rotten Tomatoes score.
The film follows a mild-mannered farmer named Donal who finds his elderly mother murdered in what appears to be a home invasion.
When masked thugs then try to kill him in a botched staged suicide, he escapes with his life and embarks on a quest to avenge her.
There’s also Shonda Rhimes’ legal drama thriller How to Get Away with Murder but you’ll have to be quick as it’s being removed in a few days.
The Madness is available to stream on Netflix.
