Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday (November 30, 2024) said the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the State had reduced to 0.16%, when compared to the national level of 0.23%, due to the efforts taken by the State government and other non-governmental organisations.
In his message ahead of World AIDS Day on December 1, Mr. Stalin said the theme for this year is, ‘Take the Rights Path’, which means that only by recognising the rights of each individual can one control the spread of HIV.
“Let us take a pledge to make Tamil Nadu free from HIV/AIDS,” Mr. Stalin said and requested everyone in the State to treat those living with the condition with love, while offering them support.
