Phasmophobia dev Kinetic Games has a lot to celebrate right now. The console version of the four-player co-op horror game made it to consoles near the end of October, and just a little over a month later, it’s already hit over one million copies sold.
This unit count spans PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2, and Xbox Series X|S, all of which launched the Early Access version of the game on October 29, 2024. It’s also been over four years since Phasmophobia first launched on PC. Adding those numbers in pushes cumulative sales toward the 22 million mark.
Kinetic Games CEO and development lead Daniel Knight commented on the achievement in a press release. “This incredible achievement is only possible thanks to our wonderful, supportive, and engaged community,” he said. Knight added that the milestone is “the best Christmas present we could have wished for.”
Reviews for Phasmophobia continue to stay in the “Overwhelmingly Positive” zone over on Steam, where the horror game once peaked at 112,241 players. Over the last 30 days, it has enjoyed an average of over 21,000 concurrent daily players, thanks in no small part to ongoing support from the developers. The latest major update, Crimson Eye, launched with new events, upgraded physics, and more in October.
For those looking to get in on the scares, Phasmophobia supports cross-play for teaming up with others across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.
