Re: ‘Deal of the century’; Developer offered $50M tax break for affordable homes, Dec. 5
The city has enough money to give rich developers a break, but not us.
After doing a little digging, I found that most one-bedrooms in the downtown area are going for more than $2,000 per month. That’s insane, and seeing as all of these new builds will be in that area, affordable doesn’t even enter into the equation, even if they’re 20 per cent below market value. The fact that they only have to give renters a break for 20 years is also unacceptable.
It doesn’t matter what level of government you look at, the beleaguered taxpayer is always bearing the brunt of helping the rich get richer.
With government policies pushing people out of their homes, where do they go so that they’re not paying half of their paycheque just to put a roof over their heads? Yet government keeps bringing in more people from other countries and putting them up, and ignoring the plight of Canadians who pay the bills.

LIBERAL BORDER PATROL
I think I’ve found a way to guard the boarders across Canada without spending any more money.
Divide up the Liberal party and place its MPs on open borders; they haven’t done anything in Parliament for us in nine years. We could put our dollars to good use.

LITTLE LATE FOR DIGNITY
Many of Canada’s pundits are urging Justin Trudeau to step down now while he has some semblance of dignity intact. That opportunity eluded him 18 Liberal scandals ago.

NDP ANNIHILATION
I hope the NDP are annihilated in the next election. They have shown their pathetic performance by enabling the incompetent Liberals.
Trudeau is nothing but a joke here and on the world stage, with zero credibility and influence. He is putting Canada at a huge disadvantage with his arrogance.
The NDP keep vilifying the Conservatives to justify bowing down to and supporting the Liberals. Let honest Canadians be the judge. We want an election now.
