Re: Trudeau, Freeland ‘lost control’ of Canada’s finances: Poilievre, online, Dec. 8
The Justin Trudeau government inherited a balanced budget when it came to power in 2015, promising to run only small deficits.
Like all other Trudeau promises, that one was quickly broken with massive deficits every year since, while hundreds of billions have been added to the national debt, pushing it over $1 trillion.
This reckless spending included $160 billion on green projects, including rewarding foreign companies to build electric batteries for EVs that few are buying. Billions more have gone in aid to foreign countries.
Canada is in debt because of Trudeau’s and Chrystia Freeland’s virtue-signalling and irresponsible spending, which has never been under control since the Liberals came to power.

YOU LOST, DONALD?
Re: Not outrageous, hilarious, letter to the editor (Trump teasing about a Canadian takeover with an AI illustration), Dec. 9
Even more hilarious is that president-elect Donald Trump is looking upon a mountain in the distance that strongly resembles the Matterhorn, which is part of the boundary between Switzerland and Italy.
Come on, Yanks, it’s about time for you to start laughing at your own lack of due diligence when thinking that Canada is a country you can easily pick on.

KNOW WHERE CITIZENS STAND
What does our federal government care more about? Goods from China getting delivered through our ports to large corporations, or goods to Canadians that mean a lot to them delivered through our postal service?

The government ended the recent strike in our ports in quick time while the postal strike went for almost a month before they acted. Keeping countries that interfere in elections happy must mean more to the government than the citizens who vote.

HOLDING OUT HOPE, ARE THEY?
I wonder how many Liberal MPs are already putting together their résumés, knowing that, after the destruction they and their great leader have done to our country, they don’t have a hope in hell of keeping their seats in the next election?
I guess they are still holding out hope that Justin Trudeau’s buy-votes scam, saving Canadians 10 cents on a bag of chips for a couple of months, will save them.
