But nothing beats a castle during Christmas, especially one decked out like Casa Loma.
It’s not hard to make visiting Toronto’s Camelot an annual tradition, where you can celebrate the holidays with a bit of magic.
Take in all the bright decor and thrilling performances, while kids of all ages visit Santa and Mrs. Claus in the workshop and take part in festive arts and crafts.

A gorgeous replica gingerbread house is just one of the many things visitors can expect on their tour amid twinkling lights, stunning installations, and the timeless charm that comes with the castle.
There’s also a decorated six-metre-tall tree in the Great Hall and eight other signature trees dressed up by Canadian designers.
And you can’t show up and not catch the Holiday Lights Tour, where visitors who stick around until after dark can wander through a dazzling lighting display in the gardens and tunnels.

Christmas at the Castle runs daily from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m., with last admission at 4:30 p.m., until Jan. 4.
Admission is $45 per person, while children three and under are free.
