The Lakeshore OPP detachment has arrested two residents from the Town of Whitby who were found carrying a loaded firearm.
Officers responded to a report of two individuals in possession of a firearm near Industrial Drive in Comber, within the Municipality of Lakeshore, shortly after 8 p.m. on Dec. 14.
When officers arrived in the area, an investigation led to the recovery of the firearm.

Two individuals were arrested and now face multiple charges.
A 25-year-old resident of Town of Whitby has been charged with possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order; careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition; transporting firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner; possession of prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose; and occupying a motor vehicle knowing there was firearm or ammunition.
A 26-year-old Whitby resident is now facing charges of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm; possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order; careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition; transporting firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner; occupying a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm or ammunition; and possession of prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose.
Both suspects are being held in custody ahead of their bail hearing.
