Max George has shared that he needs to undergo a heart surgery. The Wanted singer shared a health update from a hospital bed as he was wired up to machines.
The superstar was originally admitted to hospital last week as he shared that he had been suffering from heart issues and doctors were trying to get to the root of the issue. Now, taking to Instagram, he has shared that a recent CT scan showed concerning results.
He wrote: “Had a little day trip today. Full CT scan on my heart. Not something I’d choose to do again! As I mentioned yesterday, I have a 2:1 block in my heart. Unfortunately my heart rate hasn’t picked up at all in almost a week.
“Because of this, we don’t have too much time to wait so it looks like I’m going to be in surgery way quicker than the doctors first thought.”
Despite such impactful news, the 36-year-old former Strictly star still managed to give a thumbs up as he tried to remain positive and he added that he hoped to be back home in time for Christmas.
Max went on to thank those around him for their support as he admitted that he is facing a “scary time”. He wrote: “Still a pretty scary time right now and the last few nights have been really rough, but I wanted to say that I’m absolutely humbled by all your messages of support.
“Both people I know and those i don’t. It’s given me a much needed boost and my family have been overwhelmed with support, which means more to me than anything.”
Fans flooded the star with words of support and well wishes. In the comments, one wrote: “Even though it’s scary now know that you have the strength and believe in yourself! I wish you the best.”
Another added: “Sending you strength and healing during this challenging time. I hope your surgery goes smoothly and you recover quickly.
“You’re surrounded by so much love and support, and I’m sure you’ll be back home for Christmas stronger than ever. Wishing you all the best and keeping you in my thoughts!”
“Sending you all the love and positive thoughts your way,” a third penned, while someone else wrote: “You’re in the best hands and you have so much love and care being sent to you by everyone Max – see you soon I hope x”.
