As we close in on the end of the year and the festive season goes into overdrive, it’s all too often that all we really get a chance to report on are typical seasonal events. Now there’s nothing wrong with that, but sometimes it’s better to look at what you can do in this season of giving, and Belka Games’ Clockmaker is set to provide just the opportunity.
That’s because, aside from making a hefty $100,000 donation, Belka Games is also partnering Clockmaker with the Make-A-Wish foundation. Those of you reading from North America will need little introduction, but for those who are unaware the Make-A-Wish Foundation is a charity that helps grant wishes to seriously ill children.
To mark this, a special event is also set to take place in-game. You’ll journey alongside Mark the traveller to an icy land of unfulfilled wishes filled with familiar characters who no longer believe in miracles. You’ll be tasked with foiling the Clockmaker’s schemes and helping the townspeople regain their belief in wishes.

As part of the event, Belka Games has also set up a special website to solicit donations that will go towards the Make-A-Wish foundation. While you can say what you want about the event being a bit cheesy, I think it’s quite good to mark the Christmas season with something a little more meaningful than the usual bevvy of special offers or in-game rewards. And the chance to do some good at the same time as playing is quite an honourable one to boot.
