We’ve got good news and bad news for you fans of Genshin Impact. The bad news is that you’re going to need to wait until January 1st for the next big update, but the good news is that this big update is version 5.3, Incandescent Ode of Resurrection (catchy)!
Yes, come New Year’s Day 2025, you’ll be able to hop into the latest version of MiHoYo’s hit third-person ARPG. And there’s plenty to look forward to; 1600 Primogems, a new glider with Wings of Fate’s Course Intertwined, 10 Intertwined fates, a free four-star Liyue character and a new outfit for Xiangling. All are available via a mix of in-game mail, daily log-in events and the upcoming Festive Fever event.
And there’s more! The main story continues with act five of the Natlan’s Archon Quest, where Mauvika and the Traveler will finally face the Abyss in battle. You’ll also be able to access the new Pyro element. Two five-star and one four-star character are set to debut as Mavuika, Citlali and Lan Yan all join with a variety of new abilities, including a motorbike for Mavuika.

It’s safe to say that if you’re a fan of the Hoyoverse your new year is set to be jam-packed with action. And we’re not even done! The Lantern Rite is returning, two new outfits for Hu Tao and Xiangling are set to arrive, two new bosses and the Rhythm Game are set to become permanent! There’s almost too much to describe, you’ll just have to jump in when version 5.3 goes live to find out for yourself!
