We’ve been hearing about Once Human for quite some time now, but it’s still a ways off from releasing on mobile. NetEase has unusually focused on PC this time, but Android and iOS users haven’t been completely forgotten. Pre-registrations began in May, and we finally have a confirmed launch date in sight now.
Prior to this, Once Human was rumoured to launch in January 2025, at least according to the App Store page. That isn’t the case, and you’ll just have to wait a tad bit longer as it’s set to hit storefronts in April 2025. The survival sandbox experience will land with optimised gameplay for mobile devices, including low-end hardware.
The mobile release promises to maintain the immersive depth of Once Human while ensuring smooth performance across devices. This announcement follows the closed beta test that began on November 28th, giving participants a chance to experience it and offer feedback. The beta has already set the stage for the polished experience coming in April.
NetEase also hinted at what’s next, with plans for a console release and full cross-platform support in the future. This means you’ll eventually be able to explore the wasteland with others, no matter the device.
Beyond the mobile launch, Once Human is introducing new scenarios and features in 2025. Three upcoming scenarios, Code: Purification, Code: Deviation, and Code: Broken, will expand the gameplay starting in Q3. Each brings its own challenges, from environmental restoration to fast-paced PvP chaos.
